Creating consistent business & marketing performance reporting

The challenge

There was an inconsistent view of marketing performance across 17 European markets for campaigns in support of key product launches (mobile, TV, domestic appliances).

Business intelligence platforms created by Samsung HQ not fit for purpose for tracking European marketing performance.

We needed to create a reporting platform which could be adopted by Samsung Europe and all local markets, to save manual reporting hours, and create a single and credible view of performance.

What we did

  • Ran a pitch to appoint key BI partners Qlik & HorsaBA

Designed and built an integrated business intelligence ecosystem, branding it smartBI which allowed:

  • Reporting on the top 10 European business objectives.
  • A dive into market level sales performance by category.
  • Reported on the levers of performance across key accounts, channels (retail & ecommerce) and campaign performance.
  • Ran a market-by-market European training programto increase adoption and continued usage of smartBI.

The results

  • Reduced the time to produce quarterly market reporting down from 11 days down to 2 days.
  • Continued increased adoption & usage by all Samsung European markets.
  • Two Data IQ awards: 2020 Transformation with Data, 2019 Best Data Aggregation Initiative
